Use your Google login to sign into IJ here
We are in the process of integrating other third party logins and our own Idea Journal login. Stay tuned!
Currently, there are 2 ways to do this:
First, you can upload ideas into IJ by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org. The ideas can be anything from articles and links, to images and text-based notes.
This way, you can get your ideas into IJ from email or any other app, and they’ll automatically show up in your idea feed. They’re of course all private to you.
Second, the other way to upload ideas into IJ is by clicking the “+” in the app itself, which will bring up a new entry page on the right side of the screen.
All the ideas you’ve uploaded to IJ will show up in your idea feed on the left side of the page in the app.
We’ve also included a search function — for now, the best way to use this is to type keywords into the search bar at the top of the idea feed.
We think it’s important to be able to identify certain ideas as more valuable than others.
So we’ve included a 1 - 5 point scale, so that you can rank each of your ideas: 1 being the lowest, and 5 being the highest in terms of importance or priority.
This is how the ranking works when combined with the search function: if you search for a particular keyword and, say, 2 ideas show up in the search results, the idea with the higher ranking on the 1 to 5 scale will show up closer to the top.
Here’s how you can edit your ideas: click on a given idea in the idea feed on the left side of the page, and it will pop up in an expanded view on the right. Then you can make any edits to the title, content, and tags of the idea.
Heads up that when you upload an idea into IJ by emailing email@example.com, the platform will automatically add some tags based on keywords in the content, and you can change or delete these tags as you see fit.
